Play How You Want

November 29th, 2022

I came across a video while bored on YouTube and I think it’s something interesting to consider. I don’t agree with all of it, but I do see this as being a problem in the modern world and maybe, more people need to think about things a bit more coherently.

Therefore, the video will be below the fold and we’ll talk about it.

The Creative Process

January 5th, 2022

This morning, I got up and created a new series. It’s been something that’s been rattling around in my head for a week or so and I tend to follow the wisdom, “if it sticks with you, it’s probably worth paying attention to.”

However, I hadn’t done anything with it because I was still rolling it around in my head and it hadn’t reached a point where I had a firm idea of the outline or the characters, just a vague idea that I thought sounded good.

All that changed this morning though and I finally pulled the trigger. So here’s why.

The Tale of a Book, Week 3

December 10th, 2021

Just finished off week three and I’m really impressed by how it’s going.  Everything is flowing and I could just keep writing through the end if I let myself. I just don’t have that much time.

So here’s where I’m at right now and what my goals are for the last week of work. Let me know if you have any questions, I’ll try to help.

Modern Lego Sucks

July 31st, 2021

I know this will make some people mad, but I am really not impressed with the modern Lego aesthetic. Yes, you can make a lot of really cool stuff out of it, but it’s become a consumer product, not a creative one. Lego has become little more than a modular plastic model kit and I think that it’s lost a lot of what made basic creative toys of the past special.

So let’s talk about it.

The Disturbing Lack of Modern Creativity

December 26th, 2020

Have you noticed this? This seems to be commonplace across nearly all pursuits these days, but the one I want to talk about today especially is role playing. I’ve noticed this nearly every day on places like Reddit and I really don’t get it. For a hobby that relies on being creative, why can’t anyone actually be creative?
