Game Review: Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015)

April 4th, 2017

I reviewed the first of the Tomb Raider reboot games a while ago and I knew they were putting out a new one, I just completely forgot about it until recently when I picked it up.  I thought the first game was pretty decent and had about the same expectations this time around.  I actually like these games more as shooters than they are platformers, although they still have that element to them, but I’m more of an FPS guy than a puzzle solving guy anyhow.  So did this game make any improvements from the first?  Read on to find out.

Comic Review: Avengers Alliance #1-4 (2016)

June 4th, 2016

Oh look, Disney is back using Marvel Comics to try to sell something!  That never happens! This time, they released a series of 4 9-page comics leading up to the Avengers Alliance 2 video game.

But since this isn’t a video game review, but a comic review, I’m going to expect the story to stand on its own.  Yeah, that’s probably a tall order, considering what it is, but nobody says you can’t shoot high, right?

So let’s take a look at this Avengers Alliance comic mini-series and see if they can accomplish art in the middle of advertising.

Game Review: Shadow Warrior (2013)

May 6th, 2014

Shadow Warrior Logo

Special thanks to Hausdorff for suggesting this game to me, it was totally off my radar, even though conceptually it was right up my alley.

This is a reimagining of a 1997 game of the same name.  The original game took a lot of flack for it’s somewhat racist portrayal of Asian characters but that’s not really true of the new game.  So come along on an adventure as I review the first-person-shooter Shadow Warrior.
