It wasn’t too long ago that I did a Boris Vallejo card set but I realized that I presented the fourth series that they released, I probably ought to show you the first three series as well. After all, Boris has put out such a wealth of fantasy and science fiction artwork over his long and illustrious career, his work has graced album covers, books, magazines, posters, it’s hard to find a medium where he hasn’t made his mark and he certainly deserves every bit of credit and admiration we can give him for his amazing skill and talent.
Therefore, I present to you the first series of Boris Vallejo artwork in non-sport cards: Boris I.
This is one of the earliest card sets released by Comic Images. It is comprised of 90 cards, with no premium or chase cards, somewhat of a rarity considering sets that came thereafter. Many people consider the artwork depicted on these cards to be among Boris’ most beautiful. Most of what I said in my earlier Boris presentation applies here, so you get this short and sweet.
Click on the images, they get bigger! Enjoy the artwork and come back next week for more non-sport cards!
