Considering how much time I spent bitching about Wondercon’s complete and utter lack of professionalism last year, I had to pop up with a quick update and a big thumbs up to the Wondercon staff. They have already announced that Wondercon will return, for the fourth year in a row, to the Anaheim Convention Center over the Easter weekend. They didn’t announce this in November, far too late for most people to make plans, but not too long after the end of the convention! It wasn’t until I was making a post on my other blog about Comicon that I remembered!
So great job! This is just what they should have done and I’m already feeling much more confident in next year’s convention than I ever did about this one. As you can see from my con reports for days one, two, three, and the wrap-up, how poorly they performed was a big problem for me. I’m really hoping this is a sign that they learned their lesson, that they’re getting on the ball and that next year’s show will be positively fantastic.
I’m pulling for you, Wondercon! You have the potential for greatness, make it happen and I’ll be there to cheer you on!
